Plastic Caps and Lid Collection
We are in the process of collecting 400 pounds of plastic caps and lids to deliver to an Indiana company which participates in the ABC Program – A Bench for Caps.
On Earth Sunday, 2016, the youth started their plastic collection. We have stayed steady with our collection and are currently over half way to our goal.
The ABC program offered by the Green Tree Plastics Company in Evansville, Indiana, is very “kid driven” and is a lesson in helping to preserve our earth and future state of the planet. Most importantly, it will save 400 pounds of plastic from being put into our landfills and waterways. The children have decided to purchase a rainbow colored solid plastic park bench.
With our 400 pounds of plastic caps and lids, we will then pay $300 for the manufacturing costs. To buy the park bench outright, it would cost over $400. The children will be deciding how to raise the $300 for the bench . . . so stay tuned!
Below is a list of accepted caps and lids. Please make sure they are all clean with no dirt or residue from the product. If they are not clean, we will have to sort them out and wash them.
Any caps and lids can be brought to the church during office hours or on Sunday morning at 10am. Thank you for your interest in this very worthwhile project for the youth.
