We began our Lenten Mission Project on Ash Wednesday and it will conclude on Easter. Please bring in your food donations/gift cards to the church and place in the donation tote. Thank you for your generosity, Peoples!

Paddock Elementary School in Milan, Michigan is developing a food backpack program. The backpack food program will provide a bag of nonperishable food to children in need that they can take home and eat when school meal programs are unavailable. These bags will be distributed at school to participating children in plastic bags as they leave Friday or before a long break. We would like to provide enough food to replace the meals that children would receive at school (e.g. two breakfast options, two lunch options, two snack options, one can of fruit, and one can of vegetables).
Our goal is to support the 141 students who rely on the free breakfast and lunch program. We are looking for donations from local companies and churches to help support this program. These donations could be food, drink or in the form of gift cards.
Some of the suggested item include:
Breakfast:
- Cereal (individual servings)
- Granola bars/cereal bars
- Oatmeal (individual servings)
Lunch/Dinner:
- Mac and cheese (individual servings or boxes)
- Canned soup/Spaghetti-os
Snacks: (individual packs/serving sizes)
- Fruit snacks
- Crackers
- Fruit cups/applesauce
- Canned vegetables
Drinks:
- Juice boxes
- Bottled Water
- Milk*** Kroger/Meijer gift cards (to be used by school employees to purchase milk/dairy items for students as required by the grant received)
We thank you so much for your consideration and support for the food backpack program.
Sincerely,
Hayley Muir
