While our doors are closed during this time of pandemic, our monthly movie night is postponed. We hope to share this film over chocolate with you soon, but not this month.
Join us for a movie about rebirth (and chocolate) as we begin Holy Week and prepare our hearts for the resurrection of the Lord! This month’s film tells the story of a woman (Juliette Binoche) who moves to a new town in 1959 France to open a chocolate shop with her young daughter and her young daughter’s imaginary kangaroo friend, Pantoufle. Many townspeople are horrified, but the important thing is that their new friend Armande (Dame Judi Dench!) falls in love with the offerings of chocolate shop and that a fellow outsider (Johnny Depp) falls in love with the chocolate shop’s proprietress. “Chocolat” (2000) is rated PG-13 and is two hours and one minute long.
