We as the Church have been called to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in this world, and we take this calling seriously, caring for members, friends, neighbors, and strangers.
There are a number of ways you can seek care from Peoples.
Zoom Fellowship
On Thursdays at 5pm, you are invited to a virtual cocktail hour on Zoom! You can join by clicking here, or if you don’t have the set-up to join a video conference, you could also join by telephone by dialing (312) 626-679 and entering the meeting code 916 2108 7347, followed by the password 48160. Grab a beverage (adult or otherwise) and join us for informal conversation.
Pastoral Care
Our pastor is ready and willing to meet with you for coffee, a walk through the neighborhood, a field trip to the Dairy Barn, or just casual conversation! Pastor Leia hopes that you will reach out if you would like to arrange for hospital visitations, counseling appointments, visits to shut-in members, friendly phone calls, or prayers.
Mission Committee
Our Mission Committee works hard to provide for the tangible needs of our community. Whatever your need, be it food, housing, or an understanding friend, know that we will do our best to meet you and walk with you toward filling that need. Please contact our Church Office for more information and to be connected with our Mission Committee.
Deacons
Each member of the Peoples Presbyterian Church community has a Deacon assigned to them. The Deacons are the caring arm of our church leadership. They are here to listen, offer prayer and counsel, and connect you with the church in real and tangible ways. Each year, your deacon will contact you with a letter introducing themselves. If you do not know who your deacon is, if you are not a member of Peoples, or you have questions, please contact our Church Office, and we will be happy to connect you.
Fellowship
We at Peoples want to be a strong community of individuals who know and care for each other. In addition to worship, Bible study, classes, monthly movie nights, and other faith-oriented events, we also meet more casually to better know the people we pray for. Sometimes we arrange group dinners out, sack lunches in the lounge, trips to baseball games, visits to an event hosted by another church, outings to a cat cafe, or whatever else we can set up! If you have ideas for fellowship activities or you have questions, please contact our Church Office.
