“From Generation to Generation, We Can Choose a Better Way” (Matthew 1:18-25)
Sometimes there are cracks in the way we think our lives were "supposed" to turn out--Joseph certainly never signed up for a divine stepson. What do we do when we are faced with unexpected crossroads? Do we choose what is easy, or what is right?

“From Generation to Generation, God Meets Us in Our Fear” (Luke 1:26-38)
When the angel Gabriel came to Mary to tell her that she had been chosen to become the mother of God's only son, we hear the words, "Do not be afraid." Throughout our lives, there have been people who have given us reassurance and stayed with us even when we were afraid. God is like that. God meets us in our fear.

“From Generation to Generation, There’s Room for Every Story” (Matthew 1:1-17)
In the season of Advent, we prepare for the birth of Christ and look back to the beginning of the story. In this sermon, Pastor Leia tackles a long genealogy and reflects on how broad a spectrum of humanity is reflected in it and in the world that Jesus chose to be born into and live in.

“Legacy: How Will We Be Remembered?” (Matthew 26:6-13)

“Legacy: A Future Not Our Own” (Numbers 27:12-20)
As we begin a series of stewardship sermons inspired by Rev. Carol Holbrook Prickett's "Legacy" series, we define stewardship: the act of protecting something that is worth preserving...not just for our own future but for futures that we will never see ourselves.

“Cease to Do Evil, Learn to Do Good” (Isaiah 1:11-18)
On World Communion Sunday, we consider the things, large and small, that we share in common with fellow believers across the globe. Whether it's sharing communion, or another meal, or just a styrofoam cup of coffee, find a way to extend kindness this week.

“O-FISH-ially the Worst Prophet” (Jonah 4:1-11)
The book of Jonah was written as a slapstick comedy satire, but Jonah is still SALMON whom we could learn some lessons from. How should we respond when we aren't sure we want to follow the call of the Lord? When the Lord forgives those whom we would consider our ANEMONES, do we accept that divine grace is big enough for the whole world or, COD darn it, do we dig in our heels and demand that the Lord do what we want? Be warned: Pastor Leia took every available oppor-TUNA-ty to use fish puns as she told today's story.
